Floresta Baseball League was established in San Leandro, in 1963. 

Henry Nardine, co-founder of the Floresta Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball in San Leandro, and family were nominated for "Youth Baseball Family of Year" national award at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
