Floresta Baseball League adopts the USABat Standard.

Effective January 1, 2020, USABat Standard bats must be used in all divisions for all games, practices, and any other Floresta Baseball function, event, or activity.

Floresta Baseball allows barrel sizes up to 2 5/8”, provided the bat meets USABat regulations and displays the official USA Baseball mark.

IMPORTANT: Tee Ball Bat Policy

Certified Tee Ball bats must:

• Display the USA Baseball mark
• Include text that reads: “ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS”

Tee Ball bats are only permitted for use in the Tee Ball Division and with approved tee balls.

Tee Ball bats may not be used in any other division.

All Other Divisions (A, AA, AAA, Majors, Senior)
All players outside of Tee Ball must use a bat that:

• Displays the USA Baseball mark
• Meets USABat Standard requirements
• Is no larger than 2 5/8” barrel diameter

Bats that do not display the USA Baseball certification mark are not permitted.

Why did Floresta change to the USABat Standard?
Moving toward the USABat Standard puts Floresta Baseball in line with most other youth organizations such as Little League, Cal Ripken, and Pony. Because most youth organizations have moved to the standard it has become increasingly difficult to purchase 2 1/4" bats (our previous bat standard). 

What is the USABat Standard?
The USABat Standard was developed to maintain the integrity of the game of baseball. USABat Standard bats act more like wood, which is how the game of baseball was initially envisioned. Because USABat Standard bats act more like wood, Floresta Baseball has decided to allow bats up to 2 5/8" in width. Can my child use a 2 5/8" bat?
Yes, as long as the bat has the USA Baseball mark (see picture above).

Can my child use their current 2 1/4" bat?
Only if the bat has the USA Baseball mark (see picture above).

What width bat should I get for my child? I see 2 1/4", 2 1/2", and 2 5/8"?
All widths up to 2 5/8" are legal as long as they have the USA Baseball mark (see picture above).

What about tee ball?
Certified Tee Ball bats will feature the USA Baseball mark and text which reads ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS. All Tee Ball bats must feature the USA Baseball mark and accompanying text. Tee ball bats are only permitted for use in the tee ball division with approved tee balls only.

What barrel size should I buy — 2 1/4”, 2 1/2”, or 2 5/8”?
All barrel sizes up to 2 5/8” are legal as long as the bat displays the USA Baseball certification mark.
