Floresta Baseball League operates a spring season running from the end of February to the middle of June. We typically enroll approximately 300 kids from across the San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Hayward, Castro Valley, Oakland areas. With no residency requirements we can accept players from any town or city.

Our organization does not use a draft. Instead, we encourage family, friends, neighbors, schoolmates, and previous teammates to play together on a team. We make every effort to fulfill buddy requests.

Floresta Baseball has 6 Divisions: (League age is age as of August 31st*)

T-Ball: Ages 4-6*. 1st half of season hit off a tee; 2nd half coach pitch.
A: Ages 6-7. Coach Pitch. 46/60 field
AA: Ages 7-8. Machine Pitch. 46/60 field
AAA: Ages 9-10. Kid Pitch. 46/60 field
Majors: 11-12 Kid Pitch. Full baseball rules. 52/70 field
Senior Division: 13-16 Full baseball rules. 52/70 field

"League age" is the age a player is considered during the season. "League age" is determined by the age of a player on August 31st*. See the following chart:

Players who turn 4 after August 31st and during the season of play may be considered for placement on a case-by-case basis. Please email us at [email protected], and a league representative will follow up to discuss next steps and arrange an age-appropriate readiness assessment.

Positive Coaching Alliance Training (Annual Requirement)

All head coaches and assistant coaches are required to complete annual training through the Positive Coaching Alliance.

This training is required every year, even for returning coaches, to ensure our leadership stays aligned with best practices in youth sports, positive reinforcement, and player development.

We believe coaching should build confidence, character, and love for the game.

Background Checks & Live Scan Fingerprinting
To ensure the safety of our players:

• All head coaches
• All assistant coaches
• All team parents

are required to complete fingerprinting / Live Scan background checks prior to volunteering with our league.

Player safety is our top priority, and we take these safeguards seriously.
